Community

NRW supports the communities in which it operates by sponsoring a range of charities, community events and sporting clubs both domestically and internationally.

Sponsorship

Danny Green — The Green Machine

NRW are a proud sponsor of Western Australian boxing legend, Danny Green. The Green Machine's reputation as a knockout puncher was established during his very first amateur fight in 1992 when he KO'd a more experienced opponent in the West Australian amateurs.

Green, a humble bloke from Perth's Scarborough Beach, went on to capture the hearts — and the respect — of Australians by the way he fulfilled his dream to become champion of the world.

 West Coast Racing

NRW originally began sponsorship of Mark and Glenn McNally of West Coast Racing in 2008, and this sponsorship has since been extended to include Reece McNally.

Mark, aged 25, has had his sights set on V8 Supercars for over 5 years.

In 2006 Mark joined Melbourne-based V8 supercar team Tony D’Alberto Racing (TDR) to get his first taste of the category. After a 10 round initiation with TDR in ‘06 and ‘07, Mark’s West Coast Racing team will operate its own team. Mark has handled the step from Formula Ford, a lighter, less powerful race car, to the extremely competitive V8 Supercars with maturity, scoring number of top-ten results already.

Glenn, aged 27, will make the step from state Formula Ford racing to the ‘rough and tumble’ world of the Australia-wide V8 Ute Series in 2008.

Glenn’s experience stems back a number of years, being focused more recently on the Western Australian Formula Ford Championship. In 2007 Glenn finished 2nd in the Series. An experienced campaigner who had numerous podium finishes at one of the most gruelling tracks in the nation, WA’s Barbagallo, Glenn is now ready to take on the nation in the V8 Utes.

Charity

NRW began sponsoring children in 2006 through Plan Australia and now sponsor fifty children from all over the world. Plan Australia is part of Plan International — one of the world's largest community development organisations. Plan's work in 49 developing countries is supported by national organisations in 18 donor countries like Australia.

Plan works at the grassroots level to empower communities to overcome poverty, so that children have the opportunity to reach their full potential. They encourage children to express their views and be actively involved in improving their communities.

NRW is proud to be associated with — and a sponsor of Plan — who, together with its supporters are a catalyst for change, free from political and religious agendas, existing only for the sake of children

Chiropractic Students

NRW understand that the best way for students to grasp a career is to be provided the opportunity to experience it first hand. During 2009, NRW in conjunction with the Chiropractic Faculty at Murdoch University, continued field visits to Pilbara and Kimberley Regional centres as part of a proactive approach to management of spinal and related health issues.

Employees — including Indigenous employees from the local area and NRW contractors — as well as members of the communities visited as part of the field trip received free spinal injury assessment and assistance with related health issues. The program has proved beneficial to the students, employees and the community members alike.

NRW look forward to expanding this program in the future.
