PROJECT SUMMARY

Rio Tinto contracted NRW to undertake the prestrip and initial mining at the Hope Downs South ore body which included Drill and Blast as well as Load and Haul. The work included significant contour and sensitive blasting as the ore body was on the side of an escarpment which hosted a significant heritage site. Total material movement over the course of the contract is approximately 25 million cubic metres.
