NRW Civil's reputation for consistently completing works to a high standard has ensured varied work with continuing and extended projects with numerous major clients.

Since our beginnings as a civil construction contractor, we have demonstrated proven ability to carry out projects with flexibility and professionalism as is expected by companies such as Rio Tinto, BHP Billiton and FMG. Some of our other civil clients include Citic Pacific Mining and Barrick Gold. We have experience in construction for both private and public infrastructure.

NRW Civil projects have included bulk earthworks, project rehabilitation, conveyor line preparation and construction of access roads, drill pads, rail sidings, tailings dams, run-of mine pads, seawalls, airstrips, green field mine development, bridges and iron ore storage facilities.


Cape Preston Bulk Earthworks and Breakwater

Located at Cape Preston, this landmark Project for Citic Pacific Mining was undertaken as a joint venture with VDM. Valued at $240 million, the contract will span just over a year and is due for completion in August 2010.

RGP5 Rail Duplication

Commencing in May 2009, this Project for bulk earthworks on the duplication of the BHP Billiton South Railway is based 250 kilometres south of Port Hedland and is a Joint Venture with Laing O'Rourke and John Holland.

Christmas Creek Rail Earthworks

This FMG Project is set to recommence in January 2010. The Works consist of Rail Earthworks together with associated drainage, road deviation and road underpass works between the Cloudbreak and Christmas Creek mine sites.

Brockman 4 Plant, Rail and Infrastructure

NRW's $176 million contract with Rio Tinto for the provision of all bulk earthworks at the Brockman 4 Mine site was recently successfully completed..

Brockman 4 Pioneering Works

NRW's $26 million contract with Rio Tinto to provide pioneering earthworks and infrastructure construction for the Brockman 4 Mine commenced in January 2008, and paved the way for the subsequent Brockman 4 Rail, Road and Infrastructure Project.

FMG Greenfields Rail Formation

NRW's contract for the greenfields construction of FMG's rail line from Mine to Port commenced in May 2007 and was valued at approximately $213 million.

Hope Downs Access Road

This 6 month Project at Hope Downs Mine, 100 kilometres from Newman in Western Australia, was carried out for Rio Tinto and the project value was approximately $35 million.

Namuldi Tunnels

Commencing in February 2007, this $13 million Project (approximately) included the construction of three tunnels over live rails and roads as part of a haul road overpass in the Pilbara.

Yandi Access Road

NRW's contract for the construction of a new sealed access road to Rio Tinto and BHP Billiton's Mines was completed under active traffic, and valued at approximately $33 million.

Yandi Junction South East

Valued at approximately $100 million, this Rio Tinto Project included a large degree of rock excavation, quail siding, plant and infrastructure earthworks as well as access road deviation and sealing.
